Oh, hey. My computer died on tuesday...ok, it didn't die, but it's funny what electricity and ignorance can do to it. Here's a little recap, without further bullshit; I need to go back to work:
Friday, June 10th
I'm writing from my brother's laptop. Our computer is being repaired, and hopefully we'll get it back tomorrow morning. In the meantime, so as to I wouldn't be get behind, my brother was kind enough to lend me this thing. Anyway, he said, that'll help me with moving all my stuff. Because you may not remember, he's moving back in, so the first thing to come back is his laptop. And we thank him for that.
Well, these days have been very tense. I'm trying to catch up on all my 5 papers, while enduring a bundle of stress I have below the neck, on my back, which hurts. Last night, I was so stressed that I couldn't sleep, I was so worried about a group thing in Social Psychology...all 60+ students have created groups, but we have to exchange our data, so it takes a lot of coordination. Each group has someone to represent it, and I'm the one standing in for my group.
So today we had a meeting, to agree on the name of certain variables (we're working with a Likert scale). I decided to previously name each thing, so when I got to meeting, I showed them my progress. People praised me, and that was nice. But I did it to avoid all those endless discussions that could come from a group of 12 individuals.
Priscilla's Angel, who shall be called AngelGuy, was there, and he was teasing me with a camera, because he noticed I hate getting my picture taken. Then he came to ask me a few questions about the scale. He's so nice and sweet, and looks so fragile. I always feel like walking up to him and talk to him. Two days ago, in class, I was sitting next to him, and we were talking about homosexuality. I wanted to pat him on his shoulder an draw him a rainbow with my crayons (he's gay, remember?).
I'm also in charge of uploading the file of each group to a public server, so that we'll save the trouble of exchanging diskettes. Yeah, I'm such a leader *cough*.
So here's a recap of my days without internet, though I must admit they made me healthier, in a way. I got to sleep more, for example. However, it's getting me behind, I depend on my e-mail to get a lot of group work done. Oh, well.
Tuesday, june 7th
- I couldn't start the computer in the morning.
- - I followed SunglassesGuy around campus for a couple of minutes, because I could.
- I ordered a box of musical-note-shaped ear clip-ons, and a bracelet with a razor, through a classmate who showed me a goddamned girly catalogue. It'll be like $18, but hey, I rarely spend money on myself, so what the hell.
- I realized I haven't flirted for fun since high school. H flirted with me when we ran into each other. Also, after a class, CaucasianGuy walked by; I waved, but instead of waving back, he came up to me and kissed me on the cheek, then smiled and walked away. That was really cute.
- I got my FIRST PAYCHECK EVER! It's $200 (!). A certain amount was discounted, but maybe I'll get it back with all that tax paperwork. I said to my dad that $100 were for him and mom, but he refused and said that maybe on my third month of getting paid I can help them with $25, for the telephone bill or whatever. I secretely thanked him for refusing, but I also felt bad, because although their retirement income keeps us out of trouble, I wanted to help.
Wednesday, june 8th
- Mr. Technician took the computer in the morning (nooooooo!).
- Rose, the housekeeper, is in the hospital, suffering from asthma.
- I was thinking that it's impossible that, in an universe of 10,000 students, I don't know anyone who knows SunglassesGuy. - I found Samuel when I arrived to the university, and he kept me company for a few hours. He greeted a lot of people. Surprise! He knows SunglassesGuy. They greeted quickly, a quick hello. I looked at him in that moment, and he was actually looking at me and not at Samuel. I'd never made eye contact with him. He's got a piercing in his eyebrow. It suits him.
- Joseph showed up, and we talked for like 10 minutes, in the middle of a hall. We mostly caught up on each other's life (he's got internet now, and he sucks at chatting), with a space between us that perhaps gave away the fact that we're more than friends. He told me I looked pretty, and we kissed goodbye. It was going to be on the cheek, but we dragged our lips to the other's. "Love you", he whispered. I didn't say anything. I didn't react in time to reply, but I smiled widely.
Thursday, june 9th
- I met another guy in my eye-candy list. I don't think I ever mentioned him here. But I did know that he was from my school, just one year younger. He shall be known as PuppyGuy, because he's cute as a puppy (yeah, I'm extra-lame sometimes). Actually, he looks like a handsome, long-haired Harry Potter, with the glasses and all. Even with the bermuda shorts.
- A very similar episode with Joseph, only this time, we cut the crap and went straight to the lips.
- I saw CaucasianGuy in an ad. It's a close-up of his face, all beat-up a la Fight Club. Beautiful. I wish I could take a picture. I saw the ad on the street. I don't know what the ad is about, though. The mistery hasn't been revealed.
Friday, june 10th (again)
- Rose is still in the hospital, with a very serious infection (I fear it's something bigger).
- On monday, I have to take 30 copies of my book to the university bookstore. Irene's sister, Writing Techniques professor, has given her students an assignment. I guess that's another little check. I'm saving for a laptor. My dad says I look good typing on a laptop. Oh, yay.
- I GOT AN INVITATION TO GO SEE A FAMOUS WRITER IN TWO WEEKS!!! I got it through Irene's sister. He's Jose Saramago, a Nobel Prize. I read one of his books when I was in Houston. I'm so excited, maybe I'll meet him and he'll sign something for me.

Now, I just came back from a Holiday On Ice show, Pinocchio. It was so, so wonderful. Joseph is online, but he is awful to talk to on the internet; still, we're going to see Madagascar, when it arrives next friday. My brother has moved back in, hopefully he'll be moral support for me to stand up against my parents.
I'll get back on track with all my assignments. Bye.
