Half-success (and yet no half-failure).

The board of the community received us with open arms. The children we spoke to on monday were waiting for us outside the cemmetery, to guide us through the passageways to the communal house. As soon as we walked in, we understood why the board held its meetings at night: the house (it's a room) it's built with plates, and damn, it's hot in there.

Three members of the board kindly met with us, and they were open to our proposals of working WITH them. We told them we don't intend on imposing a plan of ours, make it happen and then leave; we want to talk to the community first, to find about their needs and problems, and then design a plan. The keyword would be empowerment, we'll just help them to discover their own resources.

Of course it's hard when they don't have even the basics covered. The land is not theirs, to begin with, and there's no such as potable water. But if you could cover the psychological aspect, so we could become a more unified community, that'd be a great help. Hopefully the board will approve of our intentions, and will let us work with them.

I'm so, so, so excited about this. It's a small community, about 44 famillies (but 360 people altogether). There's so much we can do, and unfortunately, a lot we can't do.

Oh, and tonight I went to the theater, to see a greek comedy with my parents and sister. It was hilarious, I should hit the theater more often.

Today I finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11. Interesting. And sad. And interesting.

And good night.
